Early in my career, I had an experience that changed my perspective.  I saw one of my colleagues sobbing at her desk.  I walked over and tried to console her but she immediately shifted her emotions to project the image that everything was fine.  I had five other similar experiences within my first three months of working at this particular company.  And, before long, I also began to experience a similar level of intense frustration myself.  The problem with this organization and many others like it was that it lacked Leadership and Communication.  After seeing the negative impacts on productivity and experiencing the mental and psychological stress firsthand, I made it my mission to help others to eliminate this pain in their workplace.

I firmly believe that inspiring environments of psychological safety and enhanced communication are essential for how business is done.  Additionally, when executed correctly, it leads to improved collaboration, ownership, and trust from all employees. Unfortunately, it’s not always easy for leaders and organizations to embrace these principles.  Many leaders get wrapped up in authoritarian thinking and create a culture of blame, inspiring a lack of ownership and safety.  This is usually not done intentionally but happens when leadership lacks awareness of self-perception vs. the perception of others.  A big part of what I do is helping leaders close that gap of perception.

Over the last 15 years, I’ve led Learning and Leadership development internally and externally (Google, Pinterest, Riot Games, & Discord), while coaching leaders to create environments of psychological safety, trust, inclusion, fulfillment, and support.  These practices have led employees to collaborate and communicate more effectively.

I specialize in providing executive coaching, professional training and development, organizational development, facilitation, assessment, and curriculum design.   Additionally, I have worked with leaders, teams, and various professionals in areas of leadership acumen, management skills, relationship development, team interaction, and communication effectiveness.
