TIER ONE
Creating a leadership identity and helping managers to adopt that behavior

Example - Create leadership expectations for the organization and develop management skill sets based on that criteria
TIER ONE

Step 1 - Find your north star

Identify & develop leadership expectations

-
Host 3 focus groups (ICs, Management, Senior Level Leadership)

-
Conduct 15 - 20 one-on-one interviews with ICs, mgmt, & leadership

-
Identify key themes that help leaders thrive in the organization

-
Create well-defined leadership expectations from those themes

-
Identify case studies where managers are already applying these themes and what the result was from that application

Step 2 - Growth and Development

Educate Managers & Leaders
-
Develop and implement live virtual or in-person workshops consisting of information, group exercises, and recommended best practices to achieve these expectations

-
Develop additional learning materials for participants to reference after the live programs (guides, exercises, etc., which can be used for ongoing training for current and new managers)

-
1:1 coaching for managers and leaders that will enable them to behave into these expectations

-
90 days after the initial educational workshops, have additional programs with the same participants to share successes and work through possible challenges that occurred

Step 3 - Keep the fire burning

Reinforce these behaviors
-
Develop performance management best practices to keep managers accountable (e.g. upward performance management questions).

-
Create recommended company best practices to help these behaviors to continue (e.g. gamification and internal best practice sharing).

Step 4 - Make sure it works

Measure our success
-
Provide recommended questions to include on your internal organization health/climate surveys to indicate if there was a shift in performance.

-
Based on the finding, partner together to determine the best strategies to continue or adjust the positive development of leaders.

Step 5 - Celebrate Success!

Reward your managers
-
Create a non-bias process to recognize leaders who demonstrate these expectations (e.g. semi-annual or annual management award)

-
Create a forum where employees can acknowledge their leaders.
