Step 1 - Find your north star
​

Identify & develop leadership expectations

​

  • Host 3 focus groups (ICs, Management, Senior Level Leadership)

​​

  • Conduct 15 - 20 one-on-one interviews with ICs, mgmt, & leadership

​

  • Identify key themes that help leaders thrive in the organization

​

  • Create well-defined leadership expectations from those themes

​​

  • Identify case studies where managers are already applying these themes and what the result was from that application

Step 2 - Growth and Development

​

Educate Managers & Leaders​

  • Develop and implement live virtual or in-person workshops consisting of information, group exercises, and recommended best practices to achieve these expectations

​

  • Develop additional learning materials for participants to reference after the live programs (guides, exercises, etc., which can be used for ongoing training for current and new managers)​

​​

  • 1:1 coaching for managers and leaders that will enable them to behave into these expectations​​​

​​

​

  • 90 days after the initial educational workshops, have additional programs with the same participants to share successes and work through possible challenges that occurred

Step 3 - Keep the fire burning

Reinforce these behaviors​

  • Develop performance management best practices to keep managers accountable (e.g. upward performance management questions).

​

  • Create recommended company best practices to help these behaviors to continue (e.g. gamification and internal best practice sharing).

Measure our success

  • Provide recommended questions to include on your internal organization health/climate surveys to indicate if there was a shift in performance.

  • Based on the finding, partner together to determine the best strategies to continue or adjust the positive development of leaders.​​

​

Reward your managers​

  • Create a non-bias process to recognize leaders who demonstrate these expectations (e.g. semi-annual or annual management award)

​

  • Create a forum where employees can acknowledge their leaders.
